With the sun shining and blue skies, it's the perfect time to sow some seeds ready for the summer.

To help you grow your own, we've been working with Food for Life Walsall to set up seed libraries at five locations across the borough.

The seed libraries offer free seeds and resources for planting, growing, harvesting and seed-saving. You can grow your own food and return your saved seeds to share with others.

Seeds available for 2025 are peas, butternut squash, courgettes, coriander, chives, strawberries, salad leaves, potatoes and tomatoes (subject to availability and change).

The libraries are located in each of the four Family Hubs and the Old Hall People’s Partnership Community Shop in Bentley.

It’s a brilliant way to support local sustainability, reduce food costs and connect with nature.
