This booklet aims to offer families information and advice about the first two years of your baby’s life.

Research has shown that the first 1,001 days of a child’s life are crucial for their development and wellbeing and can have a significant impact on their future.

We want every child in Walsall to have the best possible start in life

You must register the birth of your baby:

  • within 42 days of birth
  • in the registration district where your baby was born

How to register a birth

You'll need to book an appointment with a registrar at one of our offices.

You can chose from:

The Baby Buddy app is packed with information to support mums, dads, and carers, to build their confidence and parenting knowledge from conception up to a child’s first birthday.

The app includes a wide range of information and can help you with things such as feeding, talk and play, mental health, and local services near to you.

Baby Buddy is trusted and endorsed by health professionals, including the Royal College of Midwives.

As a new dad you will feel excited, but you may also feel left out, unsure or overwhelmed. The DadPad can help by giving you the knowledge and practical skills that you need.  The resource will support you and your partner to give your baby the best possible start in life.

Teenage Pregnancy 

Are you a teenage parent in Walsall? Are you currently pregnant? or  Do you have a baby age 0-6 months?

The MY TEEN For Teenage Parents group will be on every Monday at the North Family Hub from 12PM - 2PM.Pregnant parents and new parents (babies age 0-6 months) are welcome to attend. Each parent will receive a free goody bag and can access a free bus pass. Entry is free and refreshments will be provided.
